May 14,2017

The first quarter of 2017 has passed. In addition to the mad show performance of major listed companies, what kind of landscape is the LED lighting product export market?

First, the Q1LED lighting products in 2017 exceeded US$2.6 billion in exports

According to statistics, in the first quarter of 2017, China's total exports of LED lighting products reached US$2.621 billion, a year-on-year increase of 17.9%, continuing the slow growth trend in 2016.

Second, export companies ranking

In recent years, with the global economic situation picking up and the development of China's LED industry, more and more companies have sailed overseas, and the competition for LED lighting export companies has become increasingly fierce.
In Q1 2017, there were 7,800 LED lighting product exporters in China. The top 30 exporters had total exports of US$737 million, accounting for less than 30% of the total. This shows that the overall concentration is relatively small and the competition is fierce. The top ten companies in the chart below show that the total exports of the top ten companies are only 370 million US dollars, accounting for less than 15%.

Third, LED lighting product type analysis

In Q1 2017, the export product type was the same as that of 2016, except for 36.17% of unspecified lamps, bulb lamps, tube lamps, and light bars remained in the top three positions.
The bulb bulbs ranked first with a total export volume of 492 million US dollars, accounting for 18.77%, which was a doubling of the same period in 2016.
The second place is a tube lamp. The total value of exports was 275 million US dollars, accounting for 10.84%, an increase of 25.22% over the same period last year.
The third place is light strips. The total value of exports was US$142 million, accounting for 5.43% of the total, a decrease of 0.04% year-on-year.

Fourth, the export area is concentrated on three continents: Europe, Asia, and the United States.

Most of China's LED lighting products are mainly exported to Europe, Asia and North America. In Q1 2017, the combined ratio of traditional three continents is close to 90%.
Asia and North America accounted for nearly 3 percentage points more in the same period of 2016.
In terms of the year-on-year growth rate, only Oceania saw a decline, a decrease of 14.72%. The fastest year-on-year growth rate was in Latin America, which reached 42.4%.

Fifth, the ranking of export destination countries, the United States ranked first

In Q1 2017, of the ten countries with the largest number of imported LED lighting products in China, the U.S. has won the championship with 720 million U.S. dollars, an increase of nearly one-third compared with the same period in 2016.

Hong Kong, China, ranked second with 187 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 67.34% year-on-year, and it was the fastest growing region in the top ten export destination countries.

The third runner-up was Germany, which imported US$121 million worth of LED lighting products, a year-on-year increase of 0.78%, with little change.
